Delhi dillwalo ki !! aur bhooto ki?? Dil thaam ke Dehli walo...Dil Dehlaney waley bhoot toh aapke shehar mein bhi hain... #1 Delhi Cantt/Ashok Vihar/Dwarka(Challawa): This is the most beautiful and greenest stretch of Delhi. That also makes it the creepiest of places to ride alone. Many people have reported that a lady dressed in white hitchhikes on this road. If you give her a lift, she suddenly disappears after some time!.It is reported that this place is haunted by a vengeful spirit of the lady clad in white sari asking for lift from the motorists. If people don’t stop their vehicle, she starts running swiftly with the same speed and reaching ahead of them. Some people claim that possibly the lady was a traveller while alive; hence she waves at lonely passersby to stop. There is another true Indian ghost story which says that a woman in white dress roams around the Ashok Vihar flyover between 1am and 4am. Anyone who passes by at that hour, and stops to ask her for directions, will not find their way home that night. Their vehicles break down or they go around in circles. She is also been spotted under a fig tree in Dwarka Sector 9 and in Andheria (Mor) Modh, where call-centre employees and their cab drivers are strictly advised against pulling over to have a chat. Sometimes, she appears in the middle of the road, only to disappear under the wheels. #2. Khooni Darwaza The name itself suggests that the place is eerie. The Britishers stripped and shot the 3 surviving sons of Bahadur Shah Zafar here after crushing the Sepoy mutiny. The 3 Mughal princes still haunt this doorway and wait to avenge their public humiliation. So if you are English, keep out of this haunted place in Delhi! #3. Jamali-Kamali Masjid No, Jamali and Kamali are not the name of ghosts. They were two noble Sufi saints who were buried in the tomb here. But some jihns do haunt this tranquil masjid. If you visit this haunted spot, you could expect to be slapped by invisible hands and chased by the wind. This haunted place in Delhi is always avoided during the night time. #4. Sanjay Vann The lone forest area in Delhi has not been spared by the restless spirits of the city. This forest is famous for its old and winding banyan trees. Many hikers have reported seeing a lady dressed in white walking among the old banyans and disappearing suddenly. If you see the White Lady, please tell her to get out of that white toga; it is becoming such a cliche for ghosts. (Jokes apart... But Many claim to have seen her) #5. Lothian Cemetery This is the oldest burial ground for Christians in Delhi with graves dating back to the 1700s. And it has a whole menagerie of ghosts to offer. The headless ghost is one of the most popular ones. In his lifetime, he was a young soldier who was spurned by his beloved and blew his head. Now he walks with his head in his hands on moon-less nights. Many people have also seen a child carry a bier move around this ancient cemetery. #6.House No. W-3 It is an abandoned house located in South Delhi where an aged couple were murdered a decade ago. Various sounds ranging from sobs to screams emanate from the house as reported by the neighbours. Similar haunted houses can be found in Defence Colony, Green Park, Lajpat Nagar, Lodhi Road and many places where properties worth crores have been deserted since decades due to the paranormal activities happening in them. #7.Khooni Nadi (Bloody River) This flows across Rohini in Delhi and it is believed that whoever enters the river is sucked inside it by a mysterious force. Many have lost their lives there and the reason for this phenomenon is still unknown. #8.Mutiny House A memorial built by the British to commemorate the death of their officials in the revolt of 1857, people have found chopped-up moving arms and legs of the deceased officials in the evenings. It truly must be a ghastly sight for those who have witnessed it first hand. #9.Bhuli Bhatiyari ka Mahal The entry to the monument from the North-East, interestingly, is twin-gated, strange for a structure that is deemed not so important. It has remained abandoned and left unoccupied for centuries and is known to be haunted with various sounds and invisible shuffling activity around this part of the ridge. #10. Chor minar Visit the tower for the love of history, the love of its hidden secrets & for the love of Delhi. Only make sure it doesnt get too dark when you get there because you may just find a head or two bopping from those windows or lying near the bushes & always keep in mind the statutory warning inscribed on each brick of the tower: ‘DO NOT STEAL’!
