Delta power brokers to sack Nwaoboshi over 2015 governorship - TopicsExpress

Delta power brokers to sack Nwaoboshi over 2015 governorship poll AS the 2015 Governorship race in Delta State hots up, plans have been concluded by the powers that be in the state to sack the state’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chairman, Barrister Peter Nwaoboshi. The same powers that be recently forced Hon. Victor Ochei, erstwhile Speaker of the state House of Assembly to resign as part of the plans to reduce the number of the aspirants and be able to install a particular aspirant. Part of the strategy is for the state Youth Forum for Good Governance (DSYFGG) to stage a rally at the PDP Secretariat in Abuja for the sack of Nwaoboshi to pave way for the installation of somebody that will dance to the tune of the power brokers. DSYFGG had earlier called on the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, to sanction Nwaobosi for acts that has fuelled political differences over zoning of governorship positions among the three senatorial districts in the state. The source said the powers that be had arranged the positions in which the governorship would go to Ijaw, the deputy governor to Anioma while the party chairman and the speaker of the House of Assembly would be given to Urhobo. According to a letter dated March 23, 2014, addressed to the Inspector General of Police and signed by Comrade Prince Kpokpogri, President General of DSYFGG, the group stated that the rally is to press home its displeasure over the unwarranted comments of Nwaoboshi and the demand for his sack except he resigns on or before 21 days. Kpokpogri said Nwaoboshi has failed to apologise to Deltans and, therefore, not fit to continue to act as the state chairman of the party, as his emotion has betrayed the office he is occupying for failing to play a fatherly role to all aspirants but instead taking sides with his senatorial district. Kpokpogri posited that Nwaoboshi, threw caution to the wind, descended so low and his actions have pitted politicians against themselves, saying that there is nothing like zoning in PDP constitution and no written agreement in that regard, asking why aspirants from other senatorial districts contest during former Governor James Ibori and Governor Emmanuel election, noting that the interference of Nwaoboshi shows that he has a candidate. Kpokpogri claimed that the youths in the state condemned the behaviour of Nwaoboshi, fearing that soon politicians may resort to hiring youths to commit havoc in matters the group considers as non-issues just as he disclosed that the group has written to inform all security agents in the state of the development. “And for peace and tranquility, we demand that Barrister Nwaoboshi resign to avert possible political hiccups in the state and put an end to the ongoing unpalatable comments and write ups that have characterised our polity or put the state on the verge of strong political disagreement. The good people of Delta State, for the sake of fairness and transparency, want him to step aside for another person to conduct the primary elections or else the PDP primaries will be enveloped by darkness,” Kpokpogri said. dailyindependentnig/2014/03/delta-power-brokers-to-sack-nwaoboshi-over-2015-governorship-poll/
