This untrusting, and grouchy, old man named Hobo is in need of a home. He is 8 years old and weighs 19 pounds and 13 ounces. Tested FIV/Felv neg, utd on vacs. He is very obese and is now on a diet. His story, as told to me by his previous and only owner: She caught him as a feral kitten, had him neutered, and brought him in the house as a pet. He remained feral to a certain degree. When she contacted me she said he could live outside (I was thinking barn cat), but once I got there to pick him up I found out he had lived strictly indoors for 8 years and does not get along with dogs or cats. So Im not, and can not, be cruel to this aging fella and just toss him into the cold not knowing how to be an outside cat. Hes hanging out in my bathroom at the moment. Hes too terrified to even come out of the crate unless hes in there alone and the evidence is that hes using the litter box, drinking his water, and eating his food. Ive not actually seen him out of the crate. I feel sorry for the old man. Im planning on putting him in my basement, but Im unsure as to wether or not Ill be able to touch him again once hes down there loose. Id rather see if theres a kind heart out there with the room and time to spend with him. Hes very scared and needs a lot of attention to get his weight under control. Hes twice the size he should be! So share if you know any cat lovers willing to adopt and if anyone is interested in donating towards his medical call the clinic, 434.821.4922 ext 10 Or cat food, he has to have diet food. I really wasnt planning on having another mouth to feed, but he wouldnt survive the winter as an outdoor barn cat :(
