Democracy in Kenya is a mere transplant of democracy in the western world. As a matter of facts, we should not be surprised when a model, which was successful in the west, fails in African states. An alien democratic model flooded by consistent aid donations, has furthered corruption and the oppression of the economically marginalized. In Kenya, the presumption that everyone is equal in the eyes of the law, or has an equal voice in the governing of their country is indeed laughable as it turns a blind eye to the realities. In light of this, I strongly support the idea that Kenya and other African States need benevolent dictators....Kenyan President need authoritarian leadership exercised for the benefit of the citizens, and not for his own self betterment, or for the benefit of the few but for the betterment of us all. I would urge the president and whoever will come after him, to take full control of the nation, although he might allow for some democratic decision making, but he should have the last word in determining the direction and governance of our country.
