Dennis Lowe has generously agreed to donate his “Alien Makers” documentaries to FXpo and they are an ideal companion to the project. . For those of you who dont know Dennis, he is a special & visual effects supervisor who, in the early days of his career, worked alongside me (albeit in another department) on Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Dave was involved building the mechanism for the radio controlled Yoda, which I did final assembly on, that was in Lukes backpack on Degobah. I am especially happy to have Dave join the long list of FXpo associates. Not just for old times sake. But because in recent years Dave has produced a remarkable series of documentaries about the making of Alien called Alien Makers. Dave has agreed to make these documentaries available for inclusion in the FXpo exhibit. They are a fascinating insight into the personalities and history of one of SciFi’s landmark movies.
