Depression and suicidal ideation vs Lets keep moving can be summed up simply: Why? vs Why not? Yes, we die, and I dont blame anyone for being depressed by this apparent futility but consider this: before we die, we live, so why not stop futile searches for meaning beyond the obvious, be thankful, do the best we can and help others do the best they can while were all here in the same leaking boat and able to do so? As Paramahansa Yogananda said, The time of defeat is the time to sow the seeds of future successes. The time of so great a tragedy as Robin Williams self-murder is the time to discuss this leaking boat were all in. Some on this boat are fearful, paralyzed into inaction or crazy actions, some are crying, some are panicking, some are taking out their anxiety and aggressions on others but others are enjoying the ride as best they can despite knowing what sorrow and chaos their fellow passengers are experiencing. To truly enjoy the ride we must also be of service and triage our fellow passengers as best we can so we can help those who can be helped. That is the spirit that animates my posts today.
