Deputations across the State call on Speaker LA Govt committed to redress peoples’ grievances and development needs: Gul SRINAGAR, JUNE 14: Reiterating that the government is committed to redress peoples’ grievances and development needs, the Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mr. Mubark Gul has said that several innovative and exemplary initiatives have been taken for all round development of the three regions of the State. Interacting with several deputations who came across the State especially from far-flung areas here at Church Lane today, Mr. Gul said that the coalition government, led by Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah, has laid focused attention on the improvement of economic condition of the people and for the purpose government has planned to mobilize resources and make J&K self-reliant in power generation, agriculture production, besides taking due care of health sector and providing better road connectivity, drinking water facilities and several other basic facilities. The Speaker said the government endeavors to improve rural infrastructure in shape of better lanes, drains, roads and public facilities at par with those available in the cities and urban centers. He said that the initiatives taken during last four years have yielded best results in gross root level adding that the measures will continue in the State till it is developed as a model State of the country. Elaborating the reformative initiatives taken by the government for providing accountable and good governance to the people, Mr Gul said that Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has taken certain exemplary decisions aimed to ensure corruption free and accountable administration to the people of the State. He said enactment of RTI and Public Services Guarantee Acts, strengthening of Accountability Commission and establishment of online CM grievances cell, was aimed to empower the people and provide them an opportunity to have their problems redressed in a time bound manner. He sought cooperation of the people to make Jammu and Kashmir a prosperous State of the country as dreamed by Sher-i-Kashmir.
