Despatch Supervisor Reporting To: Manager Dept/Section:Operations Overall Purpose of Role: To assist in the effective management of a busy warehouse operation Main Activities / Tasks: · Managing all aspects of the handling and despatch of stock · Co-ordinating and prioritising activity across the shift to ensure customer service requirements · Maintaining stock integrity · Achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) through effective use of resources and management of staff. · Making optimum use of the resources available on the shift · Providing accurate management information · Leading, Managing and Motivating a busy team to agreed standards · Be active in identifying problems and solutions to rectify issues · Encouraging employee participation in method improvement, raising quality and effective team working · Identifying key members of the team for development, by matching people and opportunities to promote succession planning · Ensure appropriate and timely staff training is carried out · Ensure a comprehensive and accurate handover is given and received at the beginning and end of each shift · Controlling sickness/absence through effective use of policies, procedures and management to ensure that labour turnover and absence levels are kept to a minimum by effective leadership and motivation · Working to strict deadlines · Promoting a flexible approach to delivering business requirements · Adhering to Health & Safety requirements to provide a safe working environment · Any other reasonable requests made by the business · Maintain stationary supplies and raise purchase orders when required. · Update purchase order request log and raise additional purchase orders at the request of management. · Providing adhoc administrative support to managers · Step up for management cover · Plan staff resources daily · Understand budget and PL Special Requirements: · Excellent organisational skills · Sound Operational knowledge · People management experience and line management experience · Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills · Commitment and Flexibility is Key, will be required to work different shift patterns and shifts. · Objective setting and managing department via KPI’s · Customer focussed · Encourages team work · Promotes two way open and honest communication · Develops a multi-skilled and flexible team · PC Skills: Excel & Word · Financial Awareness · Ability to grasp new concepts · Decisive and proactive · Excellent problem solving skills · Communicates competently and confidently in a variety of situations including oneto one and team settings. · Considers customer needs when prioritising and allocating tasks in the team · Responds effectively to unforeseen problems · Plans ahead to ensure timely delivery of results · Accommodates changes in plans or schedules even if last minute · Shows awareness of general business principles Prime Role Location: The Hut Group, Stretton and any other reasonable location as required.
