Desperate Times calls for Desperate Measures. Yesterday i found a man sitting by the kerb side with his head and hands covered in blood. He claimed he got hit by a van, and the van drove off. First instinct was to grab a first aid box and try to stop the bleeding. Good chance to put what i had learnt during my past volunteering work at Red Cross. As i cleaned his wounds, the gash on his head looks bad and i wanted to call an ambulance. He refused. After bandaging his head, he started saying his wallet was stolen when he got hit, and he wants to go home. I passed him my EZ link card with enough value to reach wherever he needs to go. Another friend w me passed him $30. We kept insisting on an ambulance he refused and walked off. Then today, another friend saw the same guy, sitting at another road nearby, bleeding from head again. Then it dawned on me that we had met a conman. One that is so desperate to have his head bleeding so bad so that people may take pity and part money to him. This is really new to me. I hope all of you can share this so that no one will end up like us - got cheated out of sympathy. Subject is Chinese Male, looks early 40s, short hair, tanned skin, wear a tee shirt and jeans with brown shoes. Seen active at Aljunied, Macpherson, Kallang Pudding, Circuit Road & Paya Lebar area.
