Despite my initially being a proponent of the this is not a race issue perspective all the while admitting that the matter of these shootings has had a strong black-aimed tinge, you all cannot tell me nor anyone else that race has NOTHING to do with why these incidents occur. Though the matters of police brutality and its relation to the militarization of law enforcement is not a wholly racially discriminatory nor motivated process, to say that the EFFECTS of this militarization have not been oriented more towards the lives of black males is to place deliberate ignorance at the fore of your argument and to place assumption as the force behind it and vice-versa. If you watch what is on television, Youtube, and observe black behavior when you are displaced in environments to which you are unaccustom whereby there is an abundance of black people, its no question that you have probably inherited some lens of subtle cultural (racially/ethnically oriented; racism provoking, but not causal in the least) perspective--its nearly inevitable; when you immerse yourself in new cultures, the fact that you even recognize a difference between what you are accustom and what you are now immersed in embodies the foundation upon which racism is set (though the racial superiority intellection may be person-dependent, the foundation has been set nonetheless. But the foundation is not the same as racism in itself). Given this, Im not estranged to many peoples holding black men accountable, through what is defined as typical black make action, for what happens to us. This perspective is shaped, the same way mine is that I am stating right now. But just for reference in case you get this question on jeopardy or something, my goals in life do not revolve around becoming the Vito Corleone of my hood.
