Currently our esteemed client a Multinational Pharmaceutical is looking to fill the following position. Job Title : Medical Affairs Manager Location: Karachi Educational Qualifications & Experience MBBS or MD with 6-8 years of experience in Medical Affairs and Product Development Processes with a Pharmaceutical of Repute. Skills Required · Solid background in clinical practice and relevant experience in conducting clinical trials. · Must be a scientifically trained individual with an understanding of the drug development and commercialization process, in particular, experience in the design of clinical trial protocols including site selection. An understanding of the need to balance safety and efficacy concerns will be critical. · Strong communication skills · Analytical skills · Strategic thinking Age bracket: Max 42 years Job Responsibilities · Carrying out clinical research, reporting adverse events and supporting existing products and new product development according to highest ethical standards. · Design and implement clinical research projects within defined standards and budgets (e.g. Phase IV, post marketing clinical activities such as registry/database projects, epidemiological surveys, and PMOS studies). · Provide the required oversight to manage review, approval and conduct of IIS studies. · Support Affiliate Clinical Research in the management of clinical studies, as appropriate (e.g. review new clinical study protocols, identifying potential investigators/sites, conducting feasibility surveys). · Assist in new product identification and development and ensure medical advice is available throughout the process. · Provide medical/ scientific input into marketing strategy and key commercial initiatives. Monitor the environment for competitive intelligence and communicate, where appropriate, within the company. · Provide medical support to the marketing and product planning groups for new products, line- extensions and new indications. Support the commercial team in development of relationships with key opinion leaders and in other advocacy initiatives. · Develop and maintain in depth knowledge for company products / relevant therapeutic area through participation at key internal meetings/training sessions, relevant congresses, and seminars and by regular self-study of the national/international literature. · Provide expert medical/scientific advice/guidance for Abbott products and related therapeutic areas, including responding to requests for scientific/technical information. · Establish and maintain professional and credible relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centres; participation in scientific congresses, coordinating advisory boards, round-table meetings, discussion fora etc · Deliver training to sales forces and other departments; develop and update relevant training materials · Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals · Screen relevant literature and other information from relevant scientific societies meetings and conferences and develop summaries of key messages for use within the Company (e.g. key areas of scientific/company interest, new trends in diagnosis, monitoring and treatments in the therapeutic area, etc.) · The incumbent will ensure that an effective Pharmacovigilance system operates within the affiliate, and that reporting requirements to competent authorities for adverse events and other safety related documents are adhered to. He/ she should proactively anticipate possible safety signals and communicate appropriately according to standard procedures. · Additional responsibility of Back- up Affiliate Safety Representative (ASR) if designated by the Medical Director. · Review of promotional material and label changes.
