Development partners are calling for collaborated efforts between the government and stakeholders in fighting corruption and fraud in the country. EU ambassador to Malawi Alexander Baum was speaking to Capital fm in response to the shooting of a senior government official who was key in fighting fraud and corruption in the public service. Paul Mphwiyo, budget director in the ministry of finance, was shot on Friday night at his home in Lilongwe. Authorities say the development is linked to a corruption syndicate within the government which Mphwiyo was about to reveal.
