#Devotion DREAM KILLERS Slothfulness You wake up in the morning and because you are too lazy to make your bed, you leave it unattended to and you go about you daily lazy routine. You come back in the evening and when it is time to go to sleep, your bed is still unattended to. The sheets have not been changed and you wonder why all this is happening to you. All you do is dream of how comfortable you would be if your bed had clean sheets and a warm blanket but you are too lazy to do anything to make that a reality. The simple fact is that you did not take the time to work on your bed and that is exactly the way you will find it. Many of us face the same kind of situation with our dreams because we are lazy and we expect everything to fall in place automatically because we prayed!. Laziness or slothfulness will kill your dream. Show me an individual who is living their dream and I will show you a hard worker. Someone once said there are a lot of people looking for jobs but no so many who are willing to work. Proverbs 24:30-34 (NIV) I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgement; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber,a little folding of the hands to rest- and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man. What does the field of you dream look like? Are there thorns that are growing all over chocking the dream because you are too lazy to pluck them out? Is the ground covered with weeds that are sucking the very life out of your dream because you are too lazy to do some weeding? What about the protective wall that is supposed to protect you dream from the enemy who comes to kill steal and destroy? Is it standing strong or does it lie in ruins? As long as you remain lazy then your dream will always be wishful thinking and all you will do is talk about what others have been able to achieve while your dream lies in ruins. Think about the dreamer Joseph. He was not a lazy individual. He was a hard worker and every task he was assigned to he did well and the blessing of the Lord was all over him whether in Portiphas house,in prison or in the palace. Proverbs 26:13 The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. Are you always giving excuses every time the issue of you dream comes up? Excuses are a trade mark of lazy individuals. They always place the blame on someone else or situations as the reason why they have not done what they were supposed to. Do you have a dream? For it to come to pass, you have to wake up fold your sleeves and get to work. How else can God bless the works of your hands if you are doing no work? Proverbs 21:25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. PRACTICAL APPLICATION Those living their dreams are not slothful people because dreams require hard work and determination to become a reality. its time to get to work!
