We, too, can benefit from Jesus’ words as we go out to spread his gospel. The first thing Jesus told his followers was to pray to the Lord, who is in charge of the harvest, asking him to send out workers. Indeed, we ought to continually remind ourselves that the harvest is the Lord’s, and he sends us out. Just as he caused the seed of the gospel to grow, so also he is in charge of reaping its produce. Therefore, we should spend time in prayer as we look for opportunities to spread his Word. As we bow before the Lord of the harvest, may our heart be aligned with his purposes so that the Lord can accomplish his work. Prayer: LORD OF THE HARVEST, you alone can cause your gospel to grow and bear fruit, and so we give you the glory for the harvest.
