Devotion: We dont have to go through life pretending that everything is always alright, or that we are always strong, or that everything is perfect in our lives. its okay that our lives get messed up, its in those messes that God often reveals the most AMAZING messages; and its in those trip-ups that God gives us our greatest triumphs. We dont always have to pretend to be strong, because it is through our weaknesses that the glory and grace of God is revealed to us and to others. 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. We dont have to pretend to have this perfect life, for it is in our imperfections, that we are being perfected for our eternal life with Christ. If you need to cry, go ahead and cry it out and let God know what you need. If you have to scream it out and let go of all the rage, guilt, torment and frustration that have been building up inside, then let it out, because God already knows what you are feeling inside. If those dishes need to be left in that sink so you can sit on the couch and breathe for a moment, go ahead and breathe.. the dishes can wait. Dont allow the opinions and expectations of others become the disease that implants perfectionism in our lives, so much so that we go through life pretending to live it, rather than experiencing the richness and fullness of a life well and truly lived. Remind yourself daily, that you are the only one that can live YOUR life, the life that God has blessed you with, its perfectly imperfect, but its the one God gave you to walk with Him. Ecclesiastes 7:20 Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins. Have a wonderful, imperfectly, perfect day in Christ :) Blessings to all (Jannice)
