Devotional 27th January 2015 Read: Psalm 63:1-8 My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. —Psalm 63:8 We are surrounded by man-made things; roads, floral arrangements, paved streets, trees cut to a certain standard, buildings, carpets, soap, furniture, and so on... however we often forget that there is the Creator of the whole world, the one that supplied oxygen so we can breath and stay alive, He supplied all materials for us to be able to man-make things, created the very first plant and tree, animals, created us- human beings, He is even the origin of love, which we all contain within us, which allows us to associate with each other at the level of the heart; He gave us reasoning so we can think and be creative, and there are countless of other gifts from Him. Above all, He sustains the universe and every single life and existence, He nurtures it and makes it grow. We can feel and see Gods invisible hand everywhere around us. He also has time to take care of each our needs, to comfort us, to help us overcome our problems, to prepare a way for us in the future. “Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me” (Psalm 63:7-8). Although we try to keep control of our life, taking decisions and acting accordingly, we need to remember that God is holding us into His hands. His care, love and wisdom withhold my life and everything in it. This teaches us that our main concern should be abiding in Him, following His Word and the example of life of Jesus Christ. Dear God, we lay down our anxieties and worries at the cross of Jesus, we trust in You who are more than able to help us and protect us. Help us remain in Your will and may this be our primary concern today.
