Devotional for 9-19 Where God’s finger points, there God’s hand will make the way. "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you." Ps.32:1 What’s your excuse? Come on now. We all have one. Are you, “too busy?” How about, “too tired?” Jeremiah was “too young.” Abraham was “too old.” (That made Sarah laugh.) It seems like our lives are ruled by the word “Too.” Especially when it comes to listening to what God has planned for us. Isiah stuttered too much. Peter questioned too much. Paul was too much a zealot. Mary was too much a woman in a man’s world. John too honest and was a prisoner for what he believed. We all have excuses. Too Busy seems to be the biggie. We’re too busy to study our Bible lesson. We’re too busy to take a second to pray for those on the prayer request list. We’re too busy to volunteer on Wednesday nights. We’re too busy to hear God wooing us in our lives. Thank the Heavens God is such a great multi-tasker. God is never too busy for you. Let us pray. As we come into your presence this day, O Lord, we confess that Love is still a mystery to us...This is as it should be, for Your Love is not something under our control. It is like Your Spirit, a wind which blows where it will, an unseen power. It is like Your Justice, which rolls down like waters, and Your Righteousness - an ever-flowing stream. Show us this day, dear Lord how to love the way you love us. Fill us with your Spirit and let us know that you are close. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
