THUMBS UP: 1) For President Jonathan for winning such an invaluable attack dog to his camp. This is way bigger than winning Doyin Okupe. If Doyin Okupe always has partial home advantage in the gutter, this new attack dog has permanent home advantage inside the potty where he enjoys the canonical status of undisputed area fatherhood. Inside FFKs potty habitat, no potty training is allowed, no emptying and cleaning of the potty is allowed. The more urine and baby poop there are, the merrier. This is the fetid environment into which he will now drag critics of the President for a fight. If you follow him there, God help you for he is on his home turf. The President could not have gained a better asset in the impending dirty fight for 2015. I pity Lai Mohammed and Nasir El-Rufai now. Whenever they release their bullets against the President, they can now expect ripostes from Doyin Okupes gutter abode before being finished off in FFKs potty habitat. With these two attack dogs unleashed, I dont envy the Presidents critics now. 2) For FFK for his faithfulness of character. There is nothing out of character in what he has done. The surprise would have been if his freelancing as a man of consistent principle had endured. Id rather face an opponent like FFK. He is not going to pretend about his preferred venue for fights - inside the potty. Unlike Reno Omokri, the fraudulent presidential aide now welcoming him back home on Twitter, FFK is not going to create Pastor Wendell Simlin or a million other fake characters online to fight his fight, he will fight you openly as FFK. If he has bulala-ed your daughters, he will throw that information into the fight to spite you. if he has not bulala-ed your daughters, he will invent Congo sessions with your daughters as part of psychological warfare, all in his own name, no fake names. Unlike Omokri, he will not rent hundreds of unemployed victims of President Jonathan, give them laptops, and ask them to clog the commentary section of Sahara Reporters and Premium Times with stomach-churning illiterate commentary, posing as anonymous commentators. FFK will not fight you anonymously on Nairaland. His is a philosophy of ojukoroju potty fighting in his own name. And he gives you advance notice that youll end up in the potty if you dare him. That is what his Yoruba people call agba ijakadi. When your opponent forewarns you about his strategies and still floors you, that is the grandfather of fighting. We must commend FFK for all these qualities. THUMBS DOWN: 1) For all the credible Yoruba folks who for one second were taken in by the nonsense that FFK was the new hero of Yoruba nationalism. My brother, Ayo Turton, and a sister of mine will not allow me to go full throttle here. There is no way to reach those I really want to reach without my koboko landing on both of them and they are my molebi. So, I will just endorse my brother, Dapo Rotifas post here and also add this bit. Ethnic nationalism/self-determination is a noble ideal that must be pursued within the context of genuine Federalism. I said that much in my recent Obafemi Awolowo lecture. However, never allow clowns, pretenders, and opportunists to play to your ethnic sentiments and use the noble aspiration of ethnic nationalism/autonomy to mark time, maintain some relevance, while waiting for the opportunity to do the only thing that really matters to them: feed like dogs from the crumbs of those trampling on your destiny at the centre. In the politics of ethnic nationalism/autonomy, you put your best and worthiest sons and daughters forward as Ambassadors and spokespersons. Every ethnic group in Nigeria has rabies-infested racist fundamentalists and nonentities barking in the name of ethnic nationalitism. You do not grant such clowns legitimacy. You dont even acknowledge them. If you are Igbo, dont come and tell me that Okoro man on youtube is your model of Igbo ethnic nationalism. Even if you are looking for youthful ambassadors of Yoruba ethnic nationalism, if you are Yoruba, dont come and tell me that FFK is now your model of Yoruba ethnic nationalism on the strength of two or three racist essays he authored to exploit your sentiments. In the Yorubaland of Professor Wale Adebanwi? Of Professor Ebenezer Obadare? Of Dipo Famakinwa? You leave all these fine gentlemen and fall for the antics of a freelance Yoruba nationalist? Haba! 3) To some Igbo folks who ought to have known better than grant this clown the sort of attention they granted him, legitimizing his search for relevance while he was waiting for another come and chop opportunity. I mean, this was not Pa Ayo Adebanjo speaking! This was not Pastor Bakare speaking! This was not General Alani Akinrinade speaking! This was not Yinka Odumakin speaking! If those racist essays had emanated from any of these credible (and it cannot happen) leaders, one would have understood the degree of attention they got from some folks within the Igbo nation. Even one of the emergent Yoruba leaders, Babatunde Fashola, whose actions were opportunistically exploited by this clown for his racist vituperations, apologised. I kept asking some of my Igbo friends in private: why are you mainstreaming the racism of someone who ought to be totally ignored by granting it audience and writing tomes and tomes in response? Even some Igbo intellectual giants who tower above him wrote responses, granting him precisely the sort of undeserved legitimacy he craved. If you must respond, send his ilk within the Igbo nation after him. Every nationality within Nigeria has omo ita rabble rousers. Send such after him and keep the fight at his level. Dont elevate him by sending your best after him. If Tompolo or Evans Bipi abuses the Yoruba nation, you dont ask Wole Soyinka or Tunde Bakare to go and respond. And how do you fight someone with a permanent home turf advantage in the potty? They did not understand that the more they railed, the more they sailed the boat of their opponent. Now they know better.
