As an experienced Method instructor...how can you have Method in the environment of most Las Vagas schools or instructor workshops. Even Joesph Bernard, who ran the Lee Strassberg IInstitute in NYC then LA, could not teach pure method with the actors he found in Las Vegas. Just asking? How can you claim to teach method in Las Vegas? Is there the level of serious actor, the level of social and psychological commitment needed in a closed safe environment? Are there instructors ... I also teach at another school, and on my own at all levels of coaching. If you study with someone else, keep studying and get what you can out of it. If there is a class in Las Vegas where every actor shows up every class session, scene parthers come prepared and are serous about the art form..write about it and i will post it here and on SAGACTOR. Greg Van Cott: To me, Method is understanding multiple techniques and crafts AND simply by definition of the word Method is that its having a method to the madness, just understanding what you are doing, as Polonius would say. We just have a difference in philosophy. Im more about understanding the scene whereas other teachers are about understanding self, but for me-- LIFE is the greatest teacher of self. Like you cant perform heartbreak realistically, that is until you feel it yourself when it happens in life.
