Diaspora New Year temperature check and celebrations message from our temple: Part of the post was given at the beginning of the Yoruba New Year in June 2014. It is critically important as a message and still relevant for we are still going through in the world around us the elements of fight and more. Many of our people cannot see this energy and nor do witness the impact when it is upon them laymen and priest alike. Why because it is a spirit and an insidiously ominous one at that because you cannot tell those who are engrossed in its energy that they are being used by the ajogun Ija-Fight. Our prayer for the year is that our people recognize this force and what leads up to its impact and resist it. The New Year temperature check for our temple came in the form of Odi Meji and we are moving forward with the guidance of Olodumare, Ifa, Imole, Orisa, Egungun nla, Egbe Orun, and Iyami Osonronga….Ase Idin Ekute (Idi Ogbe) the Odu of the Year 2014-2015 Cast on June 7-8, 2014 depending what side of the Ocean you are on at the time of the casting. Ela moyin Aboru, Aboye, Abosise giving honor, praise, and dobale to first Olodumare, Ifa, Ori, Orisa, Egungun nla and Iyami Osoronga our elders of Orun. To the Araba Oluisese Awoyemi Aworeni Adisa Mokanranwale, the Oni of Ile Ife, the Awomeridinlogun, Oloye Idowu Odeyemi, the International Council of Ifa Religion, Aworeni Ebi, Ara Ile: In reference to the speech made by Oloye Idowu Odeyemi, Professor for whom I have great respect and care of his leadership, contributions and development of Ifa throughout the world and over the years. It is an honor and with deep for abiding respect, and love to read and hear with my hearts, your words today in his speech to Ifa adherents throughout the world and the courageous stance for Ifa that he continuous to make on our behalf.... The unification of all of our Ifa and Orisa religious arms and traditions is necessary and the recognition of the pain and struggle of our Ancestors by our brethren in Yoruba land is equally poignant to all of us, as we begin our celebration of the coming New Year. With the advent of the new Odu of Idigbe in Ayewo Ija, tells us of the support of Orun in its protection and in our quest to bring good Ifa to the world. A task which has been a struggle but despite the detractors, we have made great accomplishments over the years. We are grateful to all who have contributed and for all those who will continue to do the great work which Olodumare has entrusted to us Ase... Over the years, it has been our temples mission- Ile Iwosan Orunmila Mimo Temple to assist in this work of educating and providing worship models that addresses healing of our people worldwide. Whether, this health-giving formula has been in the form of spiritual and ritualized healing that comes in and of Ifa; or spiritual psychology which we provide with the inclusion of health, mental health objectives, education, spiritual, theological, liturgical work of Ifa. We worship Ifa and we are Yoruba. Our badge of honor is to hold to the truth of being descendants of Orunmila; stolen from our homeland but we have returned. It is you, it is us and it is we, who stand on the faith in Oyigiyigi ota aiku and being direct descendant of Oduduwa always. We will continue to fight ignorance and injustice, wherever it may raise its ugly head; to ensure our people know exactly where we are as adherents and worshipers to the word of Ifa. We salute the Oris of our leadership and the Oris our own ancestors who chose and lived their destinies so we could live in Ire gbogbo today. Over the course of time; there are many on this side of the water who choose not to follow the world Odu as predicted in the land of our ancestors. While this is not feasible for whatever the reasons may be; it is still critical for us to have different information on the Odu Ifa and for us to remember that this is the source of our Tradition worldwide. Remembering that Orunmila Himself had his students and others to divine for him; it is Diaspora. The same blood flows in our veins and we know that as Oyepolu in Oturupon Meji prayed to the priest of our bloodlines and lineage of the past; so do we. Many of those people put upon the boats of Mary, Joseph Christos of our enslavers were priest of considerable note and past on our heritage to us. It is also to remember that Orunmila teaches us as well in our dreams. This statement below was written for the beginning of the Odu of the year for June 2014 and is still relevant as our countries are going through such devastating chaos and fighting leading to deaths untold here and all over the world. Its predictions are true yet how do we stop the evil impact and the question is that we need to do so now…. In fact in the next 17 days, we who are heads of organizations, temples, Iles should be cast Ifa for our temples and ourselves for the year. Our Omo’s and clients should be coming to us for the dafa for the year which is their personal Ifa. So that they will have the guidance of Ifa and Orisa in their lives as in accordance to our traditions through time immemorial. However, it is important to know this current Odu Ifa and to follow its guidance because it has a destiny impact on every individual in the world. It is coming in Ayewo orientation of Ija-fight/conflict/ confusion/betrayal and it will have the critical mass impact on the world. There is under this Odu’s energy also going to be serious disrespect of women and above all, Elder women. There is betrayal of the most hurtful types for it is people who are close to you and who disregard your contributions to their education and their initiatory Ase empowerment. The work that you have and will do in the world for the betterment of Ifa and Orisa will be taken as your secreted detractors and you will not be given credit for the work unless you do ebo for protection. Women are feeling unsafe and rightly so with some of the actions that have gone unchecked. But does that say that women do not know how to protect themselves from predatory behaviors of men who should have been protectors? Then, you must also know the appropriate ebo and if this information is not provided as in the past you will be left to hope and pray that your skill set and personal Ifa will protect you. Therefore, we must have as much information on this Odu and watch its impact on the year. This Odu again is looking at our children and if we love our children we need to abide by the directives. It will be important for us who are diviners to look very clearly at this Odu and not allow the negativity of the energy to permeate our spiritual framework and state of mind by ignoring these warnings within the corpus of this Odu Ifa just because it comes from Naija. It is my policy not to care who tells me that the rattlesnake is about to strike, it can be man, woman, child, or chimpanzee as long as I got enough time to get out of the way of the strike. We must be prepared for our families are at danger too. Baba-akikibiti, Baba-akikibiti Cast Ifa for Orunmila when both death (Iku) and disease (Arun) Threatened to visit his house He was advised to prepare two sigidi amonu (a form of Esu Elegbara) with two hundred eeru (a type of herb) stuck to them: Give then wooden cutlasses to hold in their hands and put pieces of kola nuts in their mouths Then kill a he goat and pour its blood over them Place one at the door in front of the house and the other at the door behind the house Orunmila performed the sacrifice He acted in accordance with the instructions from Ifa Iku came to the front door and saluted Sigidi as follows Baba-akikibiti, Baba-akikibiti Please give way, let Awo pass through Sigidi did not respond. Iku turned around He went to the back of the house and repeated the same thing Arun came and said the same words. Sigidi did not respond This is what Orunmila did to prevent Iku-death and Arun-sickness from entering his house. II Idigba Idigbe li o difa fun Sango Nbe larin Ota Ifa I a se won Agbo kan ati egbetalelogbon owo li ebo Sango rubo O segun won Idigba Idigbe li o difa fun Sango When he was surrounded by enemies Ifa assured him of victory over the enemies One ram and sixty-six hundred cowries were to be offered as sacrifice Sango performed the sacrifice And was victorious over his enemies III Awo o keke Awo Oni Awo o dagba Awo Ola o Ogede nii gbodo sosin sora Awo o Lameni-mola o Dia fun Oni-loju-pon-mi-mo Tii somo bibi inu Agbonniregun Nijo to n torun bo wale Aye Ebo ni won ni ko waa se o O gbebo o rubo Nje oni loju pon mi mo Bo ba d’ola a dirorun B’opaa kan ba wo dundun Igba woroworo nii lu fun jo Oni loju pon mi mo Bo ba d’ola a dirorun The Awo is small and inexperienced is the Awo of Today The Awo is matured and capable is the Awo of Tomorrow The banana is it that stays by the brook and lives a majestic life The Awo of He-who-knows-today-and-tomorrow These were the declarations of Ifa to “My-suffering-ends-today” The child of Agbonniregun When coming from heaven to earth He was advised to offer sacrifice He complied Now, my sufferings ends today By tomorrow, it will turn to convenience If one staff is used to beat the Dundun drums Two hundred gongs shall shake and dance in the process My suffering ends today By tomorrow, it will turn to convenience… IV In Idingbemi, Ifa says there are chaos’s in the world. There are attackers. The solution to this is to make sacrifice and call upon Ifa. The items to sacrifice are a he-goat, 3 cocks, 3 big rats and 3 buckets of water. After making the ebo, the water will be poured on the ground where it will flow to Esu. With the ebo, Ifa has promised people victory and long life. On this, Ifa says: Ogeere ji moko awo won lode Idita A difa fun won lode Idita Nijo ajogun ka won mole pitipiti Won ni ebo ni won o se Won gbebo nibe won rubo Ogeere ji moko awo rere Eniyan kii da Idingbemi ko ku mo Ogeere ji moko awo rere Ogeere jimoko, the priest in the city of Idita Cast Ifa for them in the city of Idita When they were surrounded by attackers They were advised to make ebo They heeded to the advice Ogerejimoko is a good Awo One cannot cast Idingbemi and die still Ogeerejimoko is a good Awo V . Ifa says we have many enemies but Olodumare is not in support of those enemies. There is need to make sacrifice with 4 rats, 4 fish, 4 hens, kolanuts, pap, palm oil, gin and money. After making the ebo, Ifa will be appeased. On this, Ifa says: Omoole pose ko lomi loju Ologbo somimi ko lomi laya A difa fun Yeye Olobi Omo olowo mimo jojo Eegun ile ni n ba mi sota Ti Ifa o ba gbo Eye ni n daka eye Ifa o gbodo gbo ti asebi Orisa oja ni ba n ba mi sota Ti Ifa o ba gbo Eye ni n daka eye Ifa o gbodo gbo ti asebi Wall genicko hisses without tears from its eyes The cat sobs without tears from its eyes Cast Ifa for the kola-nut seller The one with clean money When the men are fighting against me If Ifa does not support them It is just a child-play Ifa will never listen to the evil doers When the women are fighting me If Ifa does not support them It is just a child-play Ifa will never listen to evil doers VI Ifa says he will help us send away the enemies. The arch enemy or the head of the enemies will run away to an unknown place after making the ebo. The items to sacrifice include a he-goat, 7 arrows, pap, palm oil and money. On this Ifa says: Idin gbe mi ki n gbe o Ifa lo di idin mi gbere Ifa mo lo di idin mi arinnako A difa fun Arinlolu lode Ofa A difa fun Orunmila To n lo si ode Ofa Ifa pele omo Olofa arinlolu Omo asawo leku ola lo Idin support me so that I support you Ifa says it is a matter of long distance Ifa says it is a matter of meeting again Ifa revelation to Arinlolu in the city of Ofa Ifa revelation to Orunmila when going to Ofa Orunmila I hail you King of Ofa Arinlolu He who make rituals to send away death Ire O Ifa Gbe wa O!
