Did You Know If an animal is picked up by GCAS or brought into the shelter and the owner is known or located the owner can not just abandon the animal at the shelter. The owner is responsible for all fees incurred while the animal is housed at GCAS. Unless an animal is signed over to GCAS legally we hold the animal for ten days just as we would a stray animals. The owner is responsible then for the surrender fee of $ 15.00 dollars and 10 days of Board at $ 15.00 dollars per day which will be billed to said owner at the conclusion of the stray hold. GCAS is Not required by contract to take owned animals free of charge. Owned animals are the responsibility of the owner.
