Did anyone see the cover of Time magazine a couple weeks back that read, Eat Butter? It seems that what weve known for years is finally being accepted and that is the low-fat, high-carb diet has led us into chronic disease. In reality, saturated fats are good and necessary. Consider these five points: 1. Avoid Omega-6 fats like corn oil, soybean oil, canola oil (for several reasons), sunflower oil, safflower oil, peanut oil and cottonseed oil. 2. Completely avoid trans fats and anything labeled hydrogenated. 3. Eat Omega-3 fats from salmon, sardines, walnuts, grass-fed beef and bison, wild game, pastured eggs and flax seeds. 4. Saturated fats (dairy, tallow, butter, lard) should come from animals raised on their natural diet and that means grass only for cows, not grains. Coconut oil is another good saturated fat. 5. Consume monounsaturated fat like nuts, avocados and olives, and their oils. Doing this will provide your body with the right fats and better health!
