Did the governor just admit that not one home has been repaired - TopicsExpress

Did the governor just admit that not one home has been repaired yet with Sandy funds? Why did only 73 homeowners apply for the RREM program in Brick, NJ and 1,339 homes received $10,000 checks in the Resettlement program when the State Mitigation Plan to obtain Sandy aid reported such a high number of primary homes damaged in this town? Did the report lie to the FED when they claimed they were all occupied by primary homeowners? This report determined how much federal government was needed to provide our state to repair homes. It appears a lot of small checks and temporary aid went out. Has anyone repaired a home yet with Sandy funds? He said $215 million of Sandy funding from the Homeowner Resettlement Program was nearing completion — the program provides eligible Sandy homeowners with $10,000 grants to encourage them to stay in their homes. Nearly all of that money has now been distributed, he said. “We’ve sent checks now to 18,200 people of the 18,500 people who applied,” the governor said. “And so, nearly all that money has now been distributed and everybody who has applied has gotten that check, short of 300 families left. ... 1,339 Brick residents have received those grants, totaling over $13 million.” Moreover, 73 Brick homeowners had signed up for the RREM (Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Elevation, and Mitigation) program grant awards totaling nearly $7.5 million. Brick residents have received nearly $27 million in FEMA individual assistance and $5 million in loans under its Community Disaster Recovery Loan Program to help them with the individual expenses. app/article/20140424/NJNEWS11/304240091/Beach-Haven-West-resident-makes-plea-Sandy-help-governor-s-forum-Brick
