Did the prophets END with John the Baptist ???? Is prophets are there in New Testaments ???? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a response to the FALSE Preachers who PREACH their denominational doctrines and reject Bro.Branham and quoting Hebrew as proof of text to support their own thesis and theology as Prophet ENDED with John... The MISERABLE thing is their DENOMINATION doesnt have the VINDICATED PROPHET WITH MIRACLES...They can ONLY teach THESIS and THEOLOGY....They dont EXPLAIN the MYSTERIES Behind in the Revelation...Revelation 1 says - SEVEN angels is a MYSTERY..Their DENOMINATION cannot explain it... Important ------------- The word “apostle(s)” occurs 85 times in the New Testament. The word “prophet(s)” occurs over 150 times in the New Testament, about 20 of those occurrences referring distinctly to prophets in the Church Age. The word “teacher(s)” occurs 125 times in the New Testament. The word “evangelist(s)” occurs only 3 times in the New Testament. The word “pastor(s)” occurs precisely one (1) time in the entire New Testament! One time! (Ephesians 4:11) Ephesians 2:19-20 ...God’s people...[are] built on the foundation of the ****apostles and prophets****, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 1 Corinthians 12:28 And in the church God has ****appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers*****, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. Ephesians 4:7-8, 11 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men” ... [11] It was he who gave some to be ****apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers*******. Ephesians 3:4-5 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to ****God’s holy apostles and prophets*****. Revelation 11:10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these ****two prophets**** had tormented those who live on the earth. LUKE 16:16 16 The law and the prophets [were] until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. The law and the prophets pointed to Jesus Christ. He was the fulfillment of the law and the prophets. But, God still speaks through His Word. And, His Word still comes through the agency of man – a prophet. The Word Itself teaches that the testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of ****prophecy****. (Rev. 19:10). If you should still doubt that prophets came after John the Baptist, then refer to the Book of Acts: ACTS 9:10 10 ¶ And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I [am here], Lord. ACTS 9:11 11 And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for [one] called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, ACTS 9:15 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: God spoke to Ananias and the things that were spoke came to pass. Another prophet of the New Testament was Agiabus. ACTS 11:27 27 ¶ And in these days came ***prophets*** from Jerusalem unto Antioch. ACTS 21:10 10 And as we tarried [there] many days, there came down from ****Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus*****. ACTS 21:11 11 And when he was come unto us, he took Pauls girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver [him] into the hands of the Gentiles. A prophet of God, and his words came to pass because of the fact that he was a prophet speaking Thus Saith the Holy Ghost. He was not speaking his own words. The Scriptures testify that God continued to use prophets to speak His Words. More than that, the Word testifies that God will continue to use prophets until the Church is perfected. EPHESIANS 4:11 11 And he GAVE (GOD HIMSELF) some, ****apostles; and some, prophets****; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; EPHESIANS 4:12 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: EPHESIANS 4:13 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: The prophet, Malachi, spoke of a prophet to come, a messenger, hundreds of years prior to the actual event. MALACHI 3:1 1 ¶ Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. Specifically, he prophecies that Elijah the prophet will come. MALACHI 4:1 1 ¶ For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. MALACHI 4:5 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet ***before**** the coming of the great and ****dreadful day**** of the LORD: You say, “That was John.” John was Malachi 3, not Malachi 4. When is that great and terrible day? Verse 4:1 … that day in which the world shall burn and all that do wickedly did not happen in the days of John the Baptist. Jesus even confirmed that John was Malachi 3 fulfilled, and that another Elijah shall come. MATTHEW 17:11 11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. Should we identify and recognize apostles and prophets today? Certainly! Luke 6:13 When morning came, [Jesus] called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles. If Jesus named them and designated and recognized them as apostles, how can we do otherwise? Acts 14:4 ...the apostles Barnabas and Paul...” The New Testament, here and in many other verses, consistently recognized men by name in the office of apostle. 1 Corinthians 14:29, 32, 37 ***Two or three prophets***** should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said.... [32] The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets.... [37] If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. Acts 13:1 In the church at Antioch there were ***prophets and teachers**** Matthew 10:41a, KJV He that receiveth a ***prophet**** in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. There were prophets in the early church (Acts 2:17-18, 19:6, 11:28 and 21:10-11) and there is a gift of prophecy (1 Corinthians 14:1). Revelation 10:7 - But in the days of the ****voice of the seventh angel*****, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the ***prophets*****. I CORINTHIANS 14:37 37 If any man think himself to ****be a prophet*****, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 1Co 14:32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the ****prophets****. DEMONOLOGY.RELIGIOUS.REALM_ CONNERSVILLE.IN DE 41-78 TUESDAY_ 53-0609A 73 Now, you said, Well, the prophets are the Old Testament. Oh, no. The New Testament had prophets. Agabus was a--was a New Testament prophet. Look at the Spirit of prophecy falling down there and telling Paul about... Then here come Agabus down from Jerusalem, and found Paul, and tied his girdle around him, and turned over, and said, THUS SAITH THE LORD, the man that wore this will be bound in chains when he gets to Jerusalem. Agabus, who stood up and told, foretold what would take place, he was a prophet, not a man with the gift of prophecy. I.PERCEIVE.THAT.THOU.ART.A.PROPHET_ CONNERSVILLE.IN SUNDAY_ 53-0614E E-13 But when the gift of prophecy is operating, it cannot be received unless two or three judge it, to see whether its right or not. But a prophet, singular, p-r-o-p-h-e-t is borned a prophet, comes up a prophet. Everything he says in the Name of the Lord is absolutely truth, if hes prophesying. Now, you say, That was for the Old Testament. Oh, no. They had prophets in the New Testament. Agabus and many of them were prophets in the New Testament.
