Those who are carrying illness, grief and loss in their hearts may feel out of sync with our society’s way of celebrating Christmas. It is hard to be joyful and see warm photo’s of family gatherings when you are coping with sickness or the loss of a family member. However, acknowledging our illness and our sense of loss actually brings us closer to the real reason for Christmas! In a time of quiet reflection and worship, we will acknowledge our struggles and loss and remember Christ Jesus who came to give light to those dwelling in darkness and hope to those who are hurting.
