Did you know that an overweight pet is malnourished?Malnourished means the insufficient, excessive or imbalanced consumption of nutrients that are essential for development and normal functioning. Too much can be just as bad as not enough. We use a body score of 1 (emaciated) to 10 (obese) to rate the condition of your pet. 5 is the ideal score. Some people prefer fewer gradations and use a 1 to 5 score where 3 is ideal. See the link below to give your pet a body score.
