Did you know that officers are trialing the use of body worn cameras in areas of Birmingham and Wolverhampton? The trial started in May 2014 and will run for a period of six months with the potential to extend for six months. The cameras will be used in small numbers to capture evidence at crime scenes and help support prosecution cases – boosting transparency in the process. Officers will let people know if they are being filmed. At the end of the trial we will evaluate the findings before considering our next move in terms of potential wider usage across the West Midlands.
