Did you know that often times real estate agents are paid a commission from the bank to send their clients there? This is illegal in all other provinces and it is highly unethical as you, the client, may not be getting the best mortgage conditions possible for you, but your real estate agent is pocketing a kick back! Even though we hold the same license, real estate agents prefer to deal directly with a specific bank because us as mortgage brokers do not pay them. The most important thing for us mortgage brokers is to help our clients obtain a good mortgage. We are not biased to a bank because they all pay the same commission. You are our priority! Daniel Lavoie I agree so much with the unethical aspect of a kick back from banks to rest estate agents, it has to stop! ...the client deserve respect from their agent and do what he is paid for, advise on real estate only!
