Did you know that roughly one in five American children grow up functionally illiterate? There are students at Beachland Elementary School who are at risk of realizing this statistic. Imagine yourself giving a child the ability to read. This lifelong skill is a most priceless and precious gift. Succeed to Read members volunteers one hour each week. We are currently piloting this program in Fourth grade. The goal is to grow to include other grade levels. Volunteers are required to fill out the Indian River County School District volunteer sheet. Currently we need at least 20 volunteers for the in the following time slots: 9:45-11:10, 12:30-1:45 and 1:50-3:15.
