Did you know: that several of the main characters on the TV show HOGANS HEROES, about a Nazi concentration camp, were, in real life Jewish?? Yep....Sgt. Schultz, played by actor John Banner, was Jewish. Colonel Klink, played by Werner Klemperer, was also Jewish. He was the son of a Symphony conductor, and his family fled Germany when Hitler took over in 1933. Major Hochstetter, played by Howard Caine, is also Jewish. When asked how could he portray a comic Gestapo?, Caine said I played him as a Madman. And, Corporal LeBeau, the Frenchman, played by Robert Clary, is not only Jewish, he was, in real-life, imprisoned in a Nazi concentration for 3 years as a child. True stories......
