Didnt take long. .Antonio is sick. He was up most of the night with an upset belly and runny nose with cough. I let him sleep till about 10 minutes ago. He is now up and looking a little under the weather. He is going to attempt this afternoon i think...at school. He has a lumbar puncture with sedation on Friday, hopefully he can stay well for it. All and all yesterday was a bit of a mess. They put Antonio is the one class I didnt want him in. The class has a supply teacher for the first couple weeks then a maternity replacement teacher.. as well all of his friends are in the other class. He took along time to make the friends he has because his life is so unstable and his attendance has been minimal in the past and I was really hoping the school system would agree that a bit of stability at school may make it easier for him with his separation issues and medical absences. I spoke with the new principle whom I have yet to decide whether I like or not, and he will not compationatly accommodate Antonio. He says he would have to switch children and he refuses to do so. I understand his position but I also am confident if he wanted to he could fix it. I really really really miss Mr. COONS our old principle:( If that wasnt enough, the teacher was actually mean to him within two minutes of being in her presence. He asked to see me one last time. She firmly said unless its an absolute emergency, go into the class room like I had asked Antonio! I was standing there at the time and said its ok, come here bud. REALLY! I have been encouraging Antonio that he will make new friends and all will be well, but he is definitely sad by it all. I told him i heard his teacher was super nice...um...the lies we tell our children to make them feel better. That all said..it may be a bit of a tough start.
