Digital Radio - DAB. Despite the detractors this worked well. I could listen to JazzFM, Planet Rock an latterly, Teamrock. Not everybodys taste, But I liked it. Could listen at home and in the car, in fact most places. Then the rot set in. JazzFM went off air in January. Now Planet Rock and Teamrock are transmitting at 80kbps in Glorious MONO. So all those stereo radios are sounding a bit crap. What does all this mean. Probably most people wont give a tot. DAB is lauded as progress, clear digital sound they say. Try Muffled compressed mono akin to AM. (if you are old enough to remember) What? you say? I dont understand? well consider Digital TV (Sky & Freeview)doing the same thing and you will be watching the latest blockbuster in Glorious Black & White! nuff said . Rant over.
