Dimakya Island, located in the northern Palawan region of the Philippines is a very beautiful part of the world. The reef around the island is home to many turtles, fish, and a beautiful school of jack. Believe it or not, most of this footage was shot on one dive! While I was diving, on occasion, I would heard a loud crack underwater and all the fish would flinch. I was later told that the noise I heard was illegal dynamite fishing off some nearby islands. I hope this video reminds people of the importance of protecting our reefs and the need to promote sustainable fishing practices.
