Dining out in Pearland The beautiful Sharon and I are now long - TopicsExpress

Dining out in Pearland The beautiful Sharon and I are now long time residents of Pearland, having lived here over 10 years. That is a long time for Pearland. It has grown exponentially in the last 15 years when we moved in. We are not prudish about restaurants. Most of them here are … well, safe. That is about as much as you can say. We dont complain about the wrong order. Too much noise (because you cant hardly show up when there is NOT a childrens birthday party.) The food is generally good, not great. The one notable exception to this description is Killens Steak House, which is world class. This past Saturday night was a monument to what can go wrong... 5:45 – We leave the house and decide to go to Lupe Tortillas. It has great fajitas and margharitas. 6:00 – We get our name on the list. It has a larger than normal crowd. No problem. 6:15 – Successfully obtain Margharitas. Everything is going to be fine. 6:25 – Meet a couple that needs Margharitas, Give them my place at the bar to facilitate. We strike up a conversation... Nice people, own a business, wife with Alvin schools... 7:15 - They get a table. I take note and go to check on ours. 7:20 - 20 scratch offs below my name, which is still there on list. 7:25 – I am told that someone took my table, saying they were me. ( So why didnt they cross off the name?) The beautiful Sharon walks up and says that some people wanted her barstools because we had been there SO LONG that we MUST be getting a table soon. She graciously lets them have the places. 7: 30- They find a table... seem disorganized and possibly worse... We decide to leave and go to somewhere else. 7:50 - We enter Los Cucos to find a crowd even bigger than that at Lupes … 8:15 - We decide this isnt going to work, either. 8:20 – We leave for home. Maybe we can order a pizza. 8:30 – I order pizza online. Same way I always do. Same pizza, too. 9:00 – Pizza arrives. I tip the driver. 9:05 – This pizza has green stuff (Lettuce?) all over it. No... not eating this. 9:15 – Determine that pizza order somehow reverted to a default, whatever I call the Pizza Hut. 9:25 – Manager gets on phone, quickly takes new order . 9:40- New pizza arrives, gratis, I tip $20 and ask the driver to give $10 of it to the manager. 2:15 A.M. - I am up eating TUMS. 3:15 A.M. - The beautiful Sharon is up, eating TUMS. Dining in Pearland. Always an ADVENTURE !
