"Dinner Time" All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time (Psalm 104:27). Scripture: Psalm 104:5-9, 24-30 Song: “God Sees the Little Sparrow Fall” Five o’clock is dinner time, and my dog, Santana, knows it. Whether he’s outside or waiting by his dish, he’s always eager to chow down. He comes running at full speed into the kitchen as soon as he hears food hitting the bowl and waits until I give him the OK to eat. He isn’t picky. He is finished by the time I get back to my living room, and he is satisfied. Psalm 104 describes how creation works. As Santana looks to me for food and care, the entire creation looks to God to take care of its needs. That’s how He made it. In His wisdom, God designed the fish in the sea, the birds of the air, and other living things to roam the earth. He saw to it that every creature had the proper environment to live in, complete with food to eat and water to drink. The Lord is truly masterful in administering His creation! Look around today and see how great our God is. Listen to the birds and hear their praise for life. Feel the wind and be reminded that the Spirit of God is near. Be aware of His creation today and know that you too are in His care. Lord, how wonderful is Your work! As I go about my day, help me to remember that You take care of all of Your creation with perfect and infinite care—including me. All praise to You, through Christ my Lord. Amen. September 1.
