Direct from our very own Alma Mater Howard Thain, Euan Turner, Iain Wallace, and Matthew William. Worth a good listen and some background research. An interesting piece at theguardian/politics/2004/jul/15/foreignpolicy.uk. We are told that there are too many unknowns to justify a Yes vote. It strikes me that there are just as many unknowns in voting No such as; Exactly what new powers will be devolved to the Scottish Parliament and when would they be devolved, will we still be a member of the European Union after the proposed 2017 referendum, how much money will be allocated to Scotland to run its National Health Service, and of course how many further conflicts (legal or otherwise) will our unrepresentative executive take us into in the coming years. There are many unknowns in this debate, but it seems to me that there are some absolute knowns. Two to be precise; A No vote will keep the people of Scotland in a position where they have little or no power to elect the executive that makes such decisions, while a Yes vote will put this power finally and completely in the hands of the Scottish electorate. The rest is just noise. Lets vote Yes and put ourselves in a position where we can actually make a difference.
