Directive on housing co-operatives welcome: Housing co-operative members have welcomed the move by government that cooperative executives will no longer handle funds, saying this will help in correcting the abuse of public funds that have rocked the sector. The government last week directed co-operative executives to stop handling funds but for members of housing co-operatives to deposit money in bank accounts, with the Ministry of Small to Medium Enterprises and Co-operative Development administering the funds.
