Listening to this person has made my day... It is the address to the United Nations General Assembly last year, of the President of Uruguay, Mr. José Mujica. He urged the international community to strengthen efforts to preserve the planet for future generations, and highlighted the power of the financial systems and the economic fallout which has the greatest impact on ordinary people. He urged a return to simplicity, with lives founded on human relationships, solidarity and family, instead of ones with people shackled to hyper consumption. He has been described as the worlds poorest president, as he donates around 90 percent of his $12,000 monthly salary to charities to benefit poor people and small entrepreneurs.
