The Director of Digital Marketing for The Washington Post will lead a team that focuses on adding economic value by developing and implementing marketing campaigns across all digital platforms – mobile, video, desktop. The scope of this position ranges from driving the success of our metered model system, growing our digital audience, to playing an integral part in expanding our digital footprint. This role serves as a trusted advisor to the senior management team and plays a key role in guiding the company towards maximizing its digital presence. Areas of Influence: Directing and controlling the activities of the digital marketing team accountable for increasing the user base and retaining current users. • Strategizing and executing branding programs for digital products in partnership with various internal and external cross-functional business partners. • Identifying customer needs to ensure the right programs and campaigns are in place to gain digital subscribers and increase market share. • Driving customer acquisition and multi-channel demand through the analysis and deployment of specified objectives, targets, tactics and metrics. • Initiating, managing and nurturing programs to accelerate prospect movement through the demand generation funnel. • Analyzing and interpreting key metrics/reports, recommending corrective action and ensuring continuous improvement and effectiveness. • Ensuring the creation of critical campaign elements (such as promotional codes and tracking setups) for lead flow and reporting. • Supporting company brand awareness as part of overall marketing initiatives and lead generation programs. • Investigating and implementing new technologies, services and/or vendor solutions to enhance Marketing’s capabilities. Desired Skills & Experience: At least 5 - 7 years of leadership experience working in a revenue and results-driven marketing environment. • Extensive experience with digital strategy, pricing, promotion, product development, negotiations, and B2C marketing tactics. • Proven success in leading and setting the direction of a marketing team that aligns with short- and long-term business goals. • Strong analytical and strategic acumen that utilizes data to identify and maximize digital revenue opportunities. • Proven success in establishing projects that align business strategies, managing and driving projects to successful completion – on-time and within budget. • Proven success with driving digital audience and revenue while executing complex marketing campaigns. • Proven success in tracking and reporting on campaign costs, achieving KPI’s and ROI throughout the demand generation lifecycle. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to influence others without formal authority. • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. • MBA and previous media experience preferred.
