Director of Operations / Marine Manufacturing Location: Midwest USA Compensation: $95,000- $105,000 base plus performance incentive, relocation assistance possible for the right candidate. To qualify, you must have current Plant Operations or Factory General Management experience. Marine manufacturing is a plus. Position Summary: This position is required to create an efficient & effective manufacturing organization for the Marine Division. This person will be responsible to create synergy between two manufacturing facilities. The goal is to create and foster high performance work teams and transfer best practices. Essential Job Requirements Education: 4 Year Degree, MBA a plus Travel: Moderate travel may be required Relevant Job Experience: 5 years of senior leadership in a manufacturing environment. Previous expertise managing multi-site operational facilities. 4 year undergraduate degree required with graduate degree preferred. Experience in the creation, management and delivering of budgets. Lead and deliver on significant capital budgets including a physical plan expansion, Lean manufacturing experience, track record of improved profitability. Physical Requirements: Combination of office and plant environment Language: Ability to read, speak and comprehend English is required Primary Duties and Responsibilities (not intended to be all inclusive): 1. Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement. 2. Oversee activities directly related to making products or providing services in our manufacturing facilities. 3. Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets. 4. Review customer p.o’s vs. production schedules to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints. 5. Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems. 6. Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances. 7. Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs. 8. Develop and implement production tracking and quality systems, analyzing production, quality, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems. 9. Set and monitor product QA standards at the production operator level, examining samples of raw materials or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
