I gave myself a challenge this evening, to make a garlic mushroom & bacon tart with salad and a plum & apple crisp (not made one of those before) for dessert. Its not often I do both main course and dessert in the one hit! The tart is puff pastry, with a layer of garlic & herb Philadelphia light, covered with a combination of chestnut and Enoki mushrooms and bacon pieces that have been fried off to remove all their moisture, followed by a layer of grated parmesan. Boy, it was tasty! Im having troubles not absconding with the piece that is left! LOL The plum and apple crisp was wonderful - forgot to get a photo of it once it was baked, but it smelled fab and tasted even better. Again, another simple matter of mixing sugar & cinnamon with the fruit, then mixing brown sugar, oats (I used muesli), and flour with melted butter and sprinkling over the top. Bake until the fruit is done and the top is crispy. Tadaaaa! Delicious! The tart came to 529 calories per portion and the fruit crisp was 458 per portion.
