Discipleship Series; 26 January, 2015 Jeremiah 9:23 – 24, … But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, …says the LORD. The second reason God reveal things to us is because of others, who may not be affected by whatever the outcome of the revelation may be. Such people may not even be related to us or may not even know we exist, yet the Almighty will reveal things about such people to us in order for us to warn, pray for or even encourage them, because those are the purposes of the word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. In Acts 8:26 – 40, Phillip was instructed to go to the desert for an assignment he knew not of till he got to the desert. The assignment was to meet an Ethiopian Eunuch he had never known and who had never known of Phillip either. Acts 8:26 – 27, Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is desert. So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship. After the whole encounter and experience, the Ethiopian Eunuch got saved and Bible historians tell us that Christianity found its way into Africa as a result of that encounter. But would the Ethiopian Eunuch have been benefited by Phillip if he were not studying the word of God? Would Phillip have been able to explain, teach and guide the Ethiopian Eunuch if he had not been studying the word of God either? I think not in both cases. Prayer: Dear God!
