Discouragement Some days are simply discouraging. You pick up - TopicsExpress

Discouragement Some days are simply discouraging. You pick up the house only to turn around and find it’s messy again. You work hard at something your proud of, and no one notices. Financial struggles, problems with your mate, and things which just don’t go your way begin to take their toll on you. Life can sure feel discouraging sometimes; David sure understood discouragement. He and his army had returned from battle to find that all of their women and children had been taken by their enemy. His men were in such anguish that they had to find someone to blame – and they chose David. They began to speak of stoning him to death. “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” 1 Samuel 30:6 Yes, David encouraged himself in the Lord. David lost his two wives, yet when everything around him had fallen apart and people were seeking to destroy him – he sought the Lord. He didn’t run. He didn’t hide. The opposite emotion from discouragement is encouragement. The Lord offers encouragement to you today, but you have to be willing to accept it. Don’t run. Don’t hide. Get alone with the Lord and encourage yourself. The Lord tenderly addresses us here: “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” 1 Peter 4:12-13 What a tender, loving word: beloved. Be-loved. Be loved… Be loved during this time of trial in your life. Learn to lift up your voice in gratitude within your situation. You don’t have to be thankful for it, but you can be thankful within it knowing that all things work together for good. The Lord has his hand out offering you encouragement, beloved, will you accept it? Please Like and Share this message. You can make a difference!
