Ditty It is a pity Lawyers brew delay And justice is sold By rogues In this city It is a pity Politics is rife In these days Of ill will and strife Just a knife- Insincerity It is a pity That you and I Will hope Of poetry and gentility When the streets are teeming With SUVs of hostile brats And loads of ah, Perversity It is a pity We can wait and watch Rains and ruins Of ruined destiny In temerity It is a pity We do nothing Yet I wonder Why I cannot strip these Of their epidermis And leave them Writhing in pain Until eternity It is a pity… You ask me to vote And bring in new masters And admire My own stupidity In this city © kanchan April 2, 2014
