Dive Site of the Week: Mauan (PS: MAUAN HAS BEEN CRAZY THIS PAST WEEK!!! EVERYDAY WE HAVE HAD FULL HOUR DIVES WITH UP TO 10 MANTAS AT A TIME! 360 DEGREES OF MANTAS!!!!) A lesser known Manta Point, Mauan is the other site in the park where mantas can generally be found. While divers have a slightly lower chance of seeing them here, the interactions that take place here are generally incredible close and personal. Lay down on the sand patch as mantas soar over you and the beautiful soft and hard corals that adorn the nearby slope. Apart from mantas, this site has a lot to offer. On a falling tide, explore the eastern slope that is home to numerous shrimps and crabs, black tip sharks, and frogfish! Turtles are often spotted here as well. Regardless of the fish life, the corals are always a spectacular sights, illuminated by the reflection of the sun on the sand. This site it perfect for all levels of divers.
