Dixon Weather Service Inc. An active period of weather is expected this week with several rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected. The first chance for showers and thunderstorms will come on Monday. No severe weather is expected on Monday due to a lack of strong instability. A warm front will then lift north Tuesday night with elevated thunderstorms likely to develop. Some of these storms Tuesday evening and overnight could produce large hail and strong winds. A chance for thunderstorms and severe weather will then continue through Thursday night as the primary storm system and associated cold front move across the region. If sufficient instability can develop severe weather in the form of large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes will be possible. In addition to the risk for severe weather several rounds of thunderstorms could produce heavy rainfall and possibly localized flooding. Persons are urged to closely monitor the weather this week and be prepared for possible severe thunderstorms. Remember, Knowing what to do during a severe weather event could save your life or the lives of people around you.
