Dj Ray Phillips is at the pulse of the nerve center of our desert music scene. This man works with the hippest names in desert rock. He thought I would be joining the gang at The Mint tonight where Eric McFadden Residency will feature special guests Jesse Hughes and Abby Travis (Eagles of Death Metal). I fully intended to be there...and had he known I lost my ride...he would have let me hitch a ride. The point to all this is, he is privy to so many inside stories working with some of the top names in music, and he did a really nice job filling me in. We both have been involved in the desert music scene the better parts of our lives and I feel honored to be included in the inside scoop. So, here is the first secret he told me I wish to share with you. Someone really cool, highly entertaining, and very well known in the desert rock community...someone who has toured the globe with some bad mothas...will be playing next Saturday at Schmidys Tavern. I would spill it...but then, they would bury me and Ray in the desert and we are both too young to die. Just trust me and meet me there.
