Do any of you ever suffer from low mood? Heres my bullet proof 5 step guide to bring yourself out of a low mood: (btw, share my posts with your friends if you enjoy them, thanks) 1. First check whether youve had enough water (this is always where I first tell clients to go because it is often a very simple cause of a low mood) 2. Next, check your thoughts.... have a good, close, thorough look at them from the outside looking in (are they negative for no apparent reason?) 3. Once youve checked over your thinking, if it IS negative.... see how you can change the situation for the better by reframing or replacing the thought 4. Replace the thought with something you feel grateful for (mine is always for my beautiful wife) 5. Then, most importantly of all, reframe your thinking .... heres a few examples.... : Negative thought I look horrid today.... REFRAME: Well, when I pause for a moment, I know Im being far too hard on myself Negative thought Im never going to be able to ...... REFRAME: Hang on a minute... can I hear myself for a moment? Theres no such thing as never and I know this is just me being super silly again Negative thought I cant believe they would do that to me, it makes my blood boil .... REFRAME: Actually, I can believe they would do this ... theyre an a***hole!..... Im far too wise to let this bother me When we are proactive about our mindset, we can pull our selves out of a hole as quickly as we like.... all it takes is a little practice and effort I know youre a beautifully balanced, wonderfully positive individual when you get out the way of your own harmful thinking Will (dog walker, surfer, seriously excited that there might actually be some waves tomorrow !!)
