“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after - TopicsExpress

“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].” Romans 12:2 (Amplified). Through God’s resurrection power, we are delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of His dear Son. Praise the Lord! The question now is how do we learn to live in His Kingdom? How do we learn to live a successful Christian life the way God intended for us to live? By renewing our minds. Let’s say you are always quick to speak your mind and tell someone off when you feel upset. You know this behavior is not pleasing to God and you want to change. So you find in His Word where He says, “Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath” (James 1:19) and you begin to meditate on that scripture throughout the day, rehearsing in again and again in your mind. You confess to yourself, “I am swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath.” As this Scripture begins to take root in your heart, you begin to be transformed gradually into what you have been confessing. You saw an area that was unacceptable to God and you renewed your mind regarding it so that you could prove for yourself what is acceptable to Him. When you begin to see change in your life, the important thing is to not become lazy. Keep plowing away at renewing your mind, inch by inch, becoming a brand new person all around with new ideals and a new attitude. Keep accepting the challenge to go from glory to glory and from faith to faith. Be sure to be patient with the transformation process. Anything worth anything takes time, and the greatest gift you can give yourself is a renewed mind!
