Do nt place much confidence in weak and mortal man, helpful and friendly he may be; and do nt grieve too much if he sumtimes opposes and contradicts u. Those who are wit us 2day may be againts us 2mro, vice versa, 4 men change wit the wind. Place us trust in God; let Him be ur fear and ur love. He will ansa 4 u; He wil do wat is best 4 u. You have here no lasting home. You are a stranger and a pilgrim wherever u may be, and u shall hve no rest until u are wholly united wit Christ. Why do u look about here when this is not the place of ur repose? Dwell upon heaven and gve bt a passin glance to earthly thingz. They all pass away, and you 2getha wit them. If u dnt knw how to meditate on heavenly things, direct ur thoughts to Christs passion and willingly behold His wounds. When Christ was in the world, He was despised by men; in the hour of need He was 4saken by acquaintances and left by frendz to the depths of scorn. He was willin to suffer and to be despised; do u dare to complain of anything? He had enemies and defamers; do u want every one to be ur frend, your benefactor? How can ur patience be rewarded if no adversity test it? How can u be a friend of Christ if u are nt willing to suffer any hardship? Suffer wit Christ and 4 Christ if u wish to REIGN wit Him 4ever.
